The deadline for fairs and exhibitions to confirm their participation in the 2025/2026 Ontario Four Horse Hitch Series is June 30, 2026.
All Ontario Four participating fairs and shows will pay a $100 per class entry fee for the 2025/2026 season (e.g. if your show is hosting two Ontario Four Horse Hitch Series classes, the entry fee is $200.)
A minimum per class payout is also required. See next question.
The fee structure based on the number of hitches in the Ontario Four class:
Should there be a large number of hitches in the class, please consider the time and effort that goes into showing horses and ensure each receives a reasonable payout.
Each Ontario Four qualifying class must be an open class, which may or may not be restricted to breed and/or gender.
It is the responsibility of the host fair or show to ensure all accepted Ontario Four Horse Hitch Series class entries are members in good standing. If a hitch who is not a member in good standing of the Ontario Four participates in a designated Ontario Four Horse Hitch Series class, the hosting fair or show will be responsible to deduct the late fee membership ($200) from the non-member’s total prize payouts and reimburse it to the Ontario Four Horse Hitch Series committee. A list of all paid exhibitors will be available on the Ontario Four website.
Show entry fees can be paid by email money transfer (EMT) to Ontariofourhorsehitch@gmail.com
You can also pay by cheque and mail to:

Yes, the entire class must be placed from top to bottom.
This rule is imperative because the Ontario Four is a point-based competition. Every point counts toward a member’s season total, which is how the Top 10 hitches are determined and invited to compete in the coveted Finals. Placing every entry ensures:
Following the show, the class placings must be sent to drafthitchseries@gmail.com for the committee to track.
You must confirm and have your class entry fee paid in full by June 30, 2026.
To be considered a valid participant and to be eligible for points in a qualifying class, each Ontario Four member must, at a minimum, be hitched to a wagon and be in motion in the ring.
This requirement is strictly enforced because every placing and every corresponding point counts towards a member securing their spot in the Top 10 Finals.
Show directors must submit the class results to the Ontario Four Horse Hitch Series committee to drafthitchseries@gmail.com when the show is over.
The Ontario Four committee has the right to disqualify any fair or show that jeopardizes the integrity of the program. Reinstatement will be at the discretion of the committee members.
